Reviews

American Record Guide

"The production alone is enough to make this album a contender for the Best of the Year. [...] They [Verità] have sweetness and vigor. The swelling that comes from natural bowing is not done here; sustained notes are smooth. [...] Bravo to all involved! Sometimes reviewing can be a pleasure."

RITMO

"En las obras de Telemann se percibe una fuerte inclinación hacia el espíritu Galant, mezclado con un toque de Sturm und Drang, mientras que en las de Bach queda representa- do su espíritu reservado y su tradición contrapuntística."

Radio Klassik

„The debut album of an outstanding young early music ensemble. Recorded in five German baroque castles!“

Klassik Heute

„The tempo contrasts between the four movements are used sensibly to increase tension. A brilliant performance!“

Opernratgeber

„The dramatic, gripping intensity in the rhythmic passages of the Allegro is magnificent. A CD that should definitely be heard.“

Diapason

"The Brandenburg Concert n.5 is performed by a harpsichordist who knows his stuff, surrounded by compatriots who are all about the pleasure of playing. The Suite BWV 1067 is, by comparison, a little tame. The Telemann' s are an excellent surprise, especially the Concerto TWV 53/A2, which is sensitive (Largo) and sparkling (Allegro). Carried by a brilliant gambist, the fourth of the "Parisian" Quartets is not lacking in panache. A promising debut."

BR Klassik

„A young international ensemble dedicated to early music from Germany.“

BBC Radio 3

“Excellent and really dynamic young players committed to gracious and colorful music making”

ORF/Ö1

"Die Repertoire-Perlen von Bach und Telemann lassen sich hier in ihrer teils natürlichen Umgebung belauschen, gepaart mit einem eigens in Aurag gegebenen Stück von SJ Hanke (*1984), einem ihrer "Composer in Residence". So schön kann die Suche nach der Wahrheit klingen - oder eben: wahrha wahrhaig."

SRF

„Recorded in the wonderful atmosphere of Schloss Köthen“
